ABOUT THIS MODALITY
Hypnotherapy, also referred to as hypnosis or hypnotic suggestion, is a state in which you have heightened focus and concentration, not a state of deep sleep. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. Under hypnosis, you feel calm, relaxed, and are more open to suggestions. Hypnosis can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. It's important to know that although you're more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you don't lose control over your will or behavior. Hypnosis has been used for pain control, insomnia, smoking, obesity, self-esteem, other phobias and behavior change.
Hypnosis helps you tap into your subconscious where you can make real and lasting change. Your subconscious mind stores every memory of every emotion connected with all your experiences. Albert Einstein said “you cannot solve problems with the same thinking mind that created them.”
