About Verse:

I believe wholeheartedly in the healing arts. Whether it’s via massage, painting, creative writing, the mission is the same: to inspire and awaken holistic healing from the inside out. The body, mind and spirit all have incredible capacity to heal itself; I simply guide the process with a nurturing spirit & intuition. Allow me to serve you!"

What aspects of your practice do you believe relate in particular to women's health?

Creativity informed by intuition is at the heart of my practice. Whether painting, creating community via writing circles, or providing energetic bodywork I am always seeking to enlighten other women to their own source of healing through intuition."

What are three health & wellness tips that you'd recommend for women's health?

Find a daily creative practice to connect with your deepest being. It might be emptying out mental chatter by free-writing in a journal, drawing images in a sketchbook, painting on canvas, or unwinding with an adult coloring book. Whatever it is, choose something that benefits your spirit.

Create a vision board. Find out who you are and what moves you by choosing a collection of images that spark joy in your soul. What common themes can you see? What phrases catch your eye? These small hints of imagery are telling you something about the kind of life you long for. Put your vision board in a place where you can see it everyday.

Find your sacred Creative Community. Find other women who might be interested and willing to explore the benefits of creativity with you, and make playdates! Exchange ideas about what kind of creative projects you're curious to try and get going. This should spark some fun and inspiration, as well as connect you to other like minded souls in the process.

Any articles or resources that you find valuable for women's health that you'd like to share?

At the center of my business, Soul Revival Healing Arts, the message is simple: Holistic healing through creativity. I believe that art has a tremendous capacity to heal, and everything I offer whether massage/bodywork, painting and creative writing workshops holds this belief as the foundational core. Here are some articles that expound on this idea:"

Painting Helps Me Grow as a Leader

Written by Manon Van Beek:
My passion is painting. Once every three or four weeks, I shut myself away and spend a whole day painting. At those moments, my world consists solely of my canvas, my brushes, and my palette. And, each time, it’s exciting to see how something appears on the canvas - all by itself. I paint whatever comes into my mind, and I rely a lot on my intuition.
Painting also helps me grow as a leader. This is the moment I take time to reflect on what I do, what my responsibilities are, and what role I play. In both painting and leadership, it’s all about making creative and surprising links between colors, styles and ideas so they form a harmonious whole.

Evidence of the Healing Power of Expressive Writing

Written by Meg O’Connor:
Seeking counseling from a therapist is one of the most common recommendations for people who are struggling to cope with a recent emotional upheaval or with past traumas. Yet writing therapy, or expressive writing, has proven to be a powerful, free, and easily accessible remedy for both the mind and the body.
Writing is a form of expressive therapy that uses the process of creative writing to cope with and heal from emotional trauma. The relationship between expressive writing and healing was first studied by Dr. James Pennebaker in the late 1980s, whose seminal study revealed striking benefits of writing about trauma.
